I didn't include The Times obituary since I figure Mr. Griffith's death was pretty well covered.
One of my favorite films of the 70's is 'Hearts of the West' were he plays a silent film cowboy extra in 1920's Hollywood. If you've never seen it I highly recommend it. Does anyone know if there was ever a soundtrack release for that film?
"Rustler's Rhapsody" is a brilliant western parody, like a sweeter, non-Jewish "Blazing Saddles", and one of my favorite films. Andy plays an effeminate evil land baron in a wonderful, sly performance; I recommend it.
R.I.P. Andy and thank you Rocket. "Hearts of the West" is great, so is Griffith and Jeff Bridges is wonderful as the naive Lewis Tater. Really enjoyed "Rustler's Rhapsody".
Thanks for these Rocket. I must admit not knowing that Andy had put out albums in the vein of Bill Cosby and others. I'll never forget the saluting toilet seats of "No Time for Sargeants". Bob
