Sometimes as Americans we forget that this day is about more than just a day off of work filled with picnics and fireworks...Hearing these national treasures read by the likes of Orson Welles and James Earl Jones is truly inspirational...the words and their intent blossom to life in all their glory!
Regardless of political affiliation, race, creed and/or religious belief they're meant to represent ALL of us!
Sure, this country has it's faults and problems but if the majority of us truly understand and adhere to these beacons of wisdom (and make sure that our politicians and business 'leaders' do likewise) I think things just might be okay...
