After having a HUGE hit with a no-budget film called 'You light Up My Life' (thanks to the hit single he wrote of the same name) Hollywood gave Joe Brooks carte blanche on this film. He wrote the script AND the music (it's a double lp), directed AND starred in it! Unfortunately for Brooks the movie BOMBED BIG TIME and THAT as they say was the end of his film career! (I'm willing to bet ego, talent and Hollywood craziness also had a little something to do with it.)
His life seems to have spiraled somewhat downward after that and Joe Brooks committed suicide about a year ago after being arrested and facing trial on sexual misconduct and rape charges...and that boys and girls is our "Hollywood Is A Cruel Town" tale of the day.
