If there EVER was an album made for this blog, this is it! I LOVE the album artwork! Those illustrations on the back are way cool.
A small disclaimer: the helmet on the front was torn away by a sticker or something so I had to reconstruct it however, I did NOT put what looks to me like a slice of rye toast on top of it! Does anybody have any idea what the heck that is?
Looks like rye toast is as good a guess as any. I was excited to see this album posted, only to find when I looked back over my collection that I already have it! But thanks anyway for posting this classic example of SABPM.
As nearly perfect as a Space Age Pop album can be, including the great backward launch count burned into our heads by Shorty Powers at NASA. And I believe the object on his head is simply a subtle toast to Space and all its future possibilities. Thanks so much.
lp rip @ 320 w/ART!

ReplyDeleteThis should be great listening, thanks!
ReplyDeleteAs for the stuff on the cover, I can only presume it's The Creeping Unknown From Outer Space.
Um...I agree, it's Rye Toast..presumably from O-rye-on.
ReplyDeleted'oh! This is the best-themed lp for your blog ever.
Thanks for sharing, and loved the Creeping Unknown reference from "The Macs", too!
