The copy I found was a promotional copy and came in a plain white cardboard sleeve so I jury-rigged a cover and grabbed an image from somewhere off the internet...
Mort Garson's stuff is pretty far-out so...yes, unplug your HAL 9000, put on your headphones and "Let The Sunshine In"!
I'm sure everyone at the time thought Hair would be one of the most influential shows ever produced, and the variety and quantity of 'Hair covers' is astounding. (Sergio Mendes, Percy Faith and Mort Garson?...)In 1970, my grandmother went to see it because it was 'a happening.' (I am not making this up.) But is it just me who finds it a fascinating relic?
@ Anonymous - I've noticed that a LOT of the mediafire links are being taken down. In general I don't want to start re-posting things. If it was removed it must have been for a reason (i.e.: it caught someone's attention and they complained) However I will do it this time. Try this:

p.s. Don't be such a stranger...'Anonymous' is so impersonal...leave a moniker next time (even if it's an alias).
@ Philip - I agree and it is a relic! (particlarly this version) Grandma sounds pretty groovy and far-out (or at least open minded) for the time. Wellllllll, check out today's post if you want to hear 'dated'. It's a relic of the early 70's Sexual Revolution by the same guy...(if you tell me Grandma had this one in her record collection I'm gonna eat my vinyl lp collection!!!)
Rocket, you are hilarious. She was in her late 60s at the time, and told me that Hair was such a phenomenon, she felt she should see what it was all about. She may have been a bit groovy but she was never far out.
I was amused to read the other day that, when he was working on the score for Promises, Promises, Burt Bacharach described the music for Hair as a disgrace, and said, in effect, that it was not worthy of Broadway. Gosh.
By the way, you will not need to eat your vinyl LP collection.
lp rip @ 320 w/ART(sorta)!
