Yesterday I read a Goldsmith review that said Goldsmith was one of the few composers whose scores worked in the film as well as away from it. I agree. I have listened to many Goldsmith scores without watching the films and enjoyed them on their own terms. A truly magnificent composer.

One of the first scores I ever bought (when I was a wee lad) and still one of my favorites of all time...
(It's funny I bought this before I was even shaving and now that I've grown a beard I look a bit like the Raisuli: It's all gray and white!)

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Goldsmith scores. Good movie also.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with that review/comment Nareesh!
ReplyDeleteAnd one of the great scores of the 70s. The movie is quirky and still great, but the score is sublime.
