I read in Van Dyke's autobiography that he recorded this album in a single session on the same day that JFK was assassinated. He said his heart wasn't in it, and he thinks it sounds like it.
Wow. Cool. Thanks for sharing that Rich. I would never have noticed that his 'heart wasn't in it'...I always thought Dick was maybe trying to sound 'cool' and 'hip'. Who knew it was the tragic events of the day?
