No matter how you dice it this is a GREAT! album. (But hey! I'm a little biased...I love pop/bubblegum type of music) I also consider this lp an early precursor to the 'blaxploitation' soundtracks that would hit the scene big time in the early '70s (brought to you in part by Neal Sedaka and Ron Dante no less!)...seriously!
Here's a fun thing to do: Put this album on...Fill a bucket with confetti and then run around the house with it like a madman threatening to throw it on someone...at the last minute turn and shower the confetti on an innocent bystander. Trust me it'll get a HUGE laugh! (at least it always did for The Globetrotters!)
Wow, Rocket, this is Great!!! Rainy Day Bells is my all time favorite "beach music" tune, and, being from The South, I've heard a lot of Beach Music in my time. But I never heard another tune by the group (other than those they played on the hardwood). Can't wait to listen. Thanks so much and have a great weekend!!!
And to Mr. "Anonymous". If you don't like what is being offered go somewhere else. When you are starving and someone offers you FREE bread you don't tell them you would rather have it with butter. Be GRATEFUL for what you get.
Rocket has spent a lot of time and has been generous for many years and your attitude SUCKS.
Hi GSW. You are so right. One of my favorite expressions, from the late great Brother Dave Gardner, is "Gratitude is riches and complaint is poverty." I never forget that one, and it goes right to the heart of your comment. Anon must indeed be a very poor soul. Keep on being thankful; it covers a lot of great territory.

Thanks GSW! (as well as jailhouserockman and Iggy/Yggi)
ReplyDeleteas far as 'Anonymous' and his 'suggestion'...the fact that he doesn't even leave a name sort of sums up how I feel about a character like that.
