"This is the city. Los Angeles California.
A playground for children of all ages.
But sometimes things can get out of hand.
    That's where I come in.
    My name's Friday.
I carry a badge." (oh and by the way will you be my sweetheart?)

    "Sunday April 15th.
I was working the night watch out of homicide.
My partner's Bill Gannon etc etc etc"

Jack Webb's stuff has always fascinated me. His writing and delivery is sort of like bizarre existential haiku. Well now it's like bizarre existential love poetry w/ a melodic underscore supplied by Billy May.

"No m'am. That's just the facts." (I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you.)

  2. p.s. Jack Webb died of a heart attack at age 62 in the early 1980's. I'm pretty sure that that always present cigarette as evidenced on the front cover didn't help when it came to his health.

    Dummmm-de-dum dum
