First of all...Happy Easter everyone! What the heck? I figure if Jesus can make a comeback why can't I...(I sincerely hope I didn't upset anyone w/ that glib comment).

Let me do some s'plaining...I really appreciate all the nice comments people made when I said 'So Long...' I didn't really wanna stop sharing however mediafire first, locked me out and then totally wiped my account off the face of the map. At first I couldn't even log onto their server from my computer...but now, under a new account name I can at least make links again (we'll see how long that lasts).

Secondly: I sorta dig the Rocket Pad when it's smaller...I start getting nervous when links start getting too many downloads. Which leads to another thing that sorta bothers me: I occasionally have pangs of guilt...after all this IS copyrighted material even if it IS OOP and/or scratchy old vinyl...Am I taking food off of someone's plate? Maybe...Heck my work has really dried up due to the paradigm shifts going on in the entertainment industry. (I used to work in the circus helping the elephant trainer. He was a nice old Jewish gentleman who needed help delivering the calfs and then performing circumcisions on the male baby elephants...The pay wasn't that great but man-oh-man the TIPS were enormous!)

Seriously, the reason I'm sharing this lp on Easter is because I really LOVE this movie ANDthe it's really a Christ parable...If you don't believe me check it out again and watch the very last superimposed image...This was one of my first serious 'cinema' observations I made as a small kid and sorta helped lead me down the career path I took (NOT Circus employee! THAT was just a joke!).

I'll probably be posting a little less frequently BUT I still have SO MANY lps I wanna throw out there...we'll see how it goes...

I hope everyone's doing great! Peace and Love!

  22. So glad you're back, mi amigo. I bought this record on my way to Vietnam in 1968 and still have it in my record cabinet to this day. That's how special it is. And an even more revealing element of the parable is the 'egg' table after the eating is finished, not to mention the three escapes. And the only problem any of us ever really have: Failure to Communicate. Best the all,

  23. RIGHT! I forgot about that scene. Wow! You had this one in Nam and brought it home? That does say a lot!

(btw - I was just a tyke in the 60's but I remember watching the evening news mesmerized by what was going on in Southeast Asia and I have to say...from the bottom of my heart: Thank You Sir for serving your (our) country and...I salute you!

I don't want to get political here but you think our elected officials (and all of us too I guess) would have learned a lesson after that one. We should NEVER EVER send our most valuable resource (our young men and women) to help prop up a bunch of crooks and thieves posing as a legitimate government...In my opinion, what's currently going on in Afghanistan is a shame! Lets really support our troops: get them out of there and make sure the VA gets MORE funding!)

ooops sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.

  24. Hi Rocket. You certainly have the right to climb on that box. My opinion has always been that any congress-person on either side of the aisle should be required to agree to send his or her children to the combat zone first, before any others. I suspect that we would see the end of war in very short order. It's easy to send "somebody else's children" off to war. There are no words to describe the waste of our country's treasure in wars since 1945. I do believe that WW II was a great effort on the part of the allies to defeat true evil. Since then, only to defeat political opponents.

Thanks again for the wonderful and thoughtful blog!
