What a complimentary piece to the Joe Friday album! My friends, THIS album clearly illustrates the difference between The English and The Americans! Jack sounds like he might just punch the woman he's trying to woo while Dirk (man...what a great name) sounds almost apologetic...as if he's bothering her. Classic.
@ anonymous - hmmmmmmm....I'm not sure whether this is a compliment or a 'dis'...coming from such a prolific blogging persona as 'anonymous' I guess I'll take it as a... 'eh...whatever'
and you're correct. it does take great skill. and a vinyl sniffing pig that used to root for truffles but now finds records. it took me years to train 'Porky' but I think it was worth it.
BossEllisApr 19, 2012 06:53 AM @ Rocket From Mars: I've only just been able to get my access rights back in Order so wanted to thank you for the many shares I've gathered these past 3 months. May I ask: have you come across in anyway shape or from the "It's My Turn" soundtrack on Motown? It has some pieces by Patrick Williams. Watched the film a few nights ago and really enjoyed it so hence the search. Thank you for give us all so much.
Good one Rocket - I'll use this album for elocution lessons. When you realize that Dirk was more interested in bothering 'hims' than 'hers' it kind of 're-contextualizes' the listening experience.
lp rip @ 320 w/ART!

ReplyDeletePlease toss an extra treat to your vinyl-sniffing pig, as a reward for finding this.
