A record album put out by a cereal company?...I wonder how they ever fit it into the cereal box? This is some of the most sugar-y 'bubblegum' music you will EVER hear! (hey, I love that stuff!) Diabetics PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE for your own sake: stay away!

btw - Honey Bear's vocals are provided by Kim Carnes (Miss "She's Got Bette Davis Eyes" singer herself).

p.s. I know I've been sharing mostly soundtracks lately but I'm still listening to the strange and bizarre stuff...which I still like to share.

  2. Rocket, a warm thank you for all the lost vinyl treasure you resurrect and reintroduce to an unsuspecting society. :) Peace.

  3. I wonder how many box tops/proof of purchase this LP cost. I was a Frosted Flakes/Sugar Pops/Cheerios guy myself. Thanks!

  4. I really appreciate the kind words and sentiment luckymike...Peace right back at you!

@ gsw - I remember begging my mom for cereals I would NEVER have even dreamed about eating if it weren't for the cool commercials that sold them (does anyone remember 'Quisp'?) as well as the ones that came with toys inside them...I remember one had a miniature aircraft carrier that actually launched little tiny jets!

  5. Yay! Sugar Bear!
I have a Linus the Lion record from Post too.
I still get Quisp at my grocers.
Ask them to order it for you.

  6. Do you guys remember when sugary cereals of the 70's got on the kick of "printing" 45rpm records on the actual back of the boxes? It was done with a grooved (and groovy!) vinyl coating on top of the cardboard, and you cut it out with a scissors and flopped it on your phonograph. I specifically remember AlphaBits doin' a bunch of these. Somewhere in my parents attic reposes a bunch of dry-rotted, dormant cereal-box Archies, Bobby Sherman and other sugary sweet cereal box crap - waiting to destroy some new styluses! :) (PS: Thanks for the reply, Rocket)
