Another great loss. We're all getting older...my kids say I don't know any "modern" music. But when I was in my dentist's and the radio they pipe in was playing Tony Bennett singing with Lady Gaga...the staff knew her voice, I didn't...I knew him, they didn't. Bob
Thanks so much, Rocket. Nice remembrance of Marvelous Marvin, and the movie was a high mark for my two favorite actors, much more nuanced than it first appears to be. All the best,
@ doctorjekill - thanks for the kind words. unfortunately I don't have many Italian soundtracks, there has to be a blog out there that specializes in that kind of music. here at 'The Rocket Pad' i just try and post things that I'm listening to that I think others might be interested in. both good and bad, popular, unpopular, famous and/or infamous.
@ Iggy - I agree! That film has only gotten better and better for me. The reason I was listening to this particular score recently: A few weeks ago I found myself on the Santa Monica pier at the carousel. It turns out that was the location where Paul Newman was staying at the beginning of the film. It was pretty cool.
I'm not sure if you knew that Redford and Newman always wanted to do another film together but unfortunately never found the right script. Supposedly they came close with a story about Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer as old men but it never got off the ground.
I'm really sorry that you do not have many italian ost because these are the best in the world You know to tell me where I can find blogs specialize in italian ost "out" your blog ? thank you and best wishes for your blog
