This one's a 7" record...I wish there was more. It's a very sweet score from a French film (Hi Jim!)...I may have got the year wrong; I thought it was from the 50's but imdb lists it as 1966...Hope you folks like it!
Pierre Étaix, who worked with Jacques Tati and made his own films is France's forgotten comic genius. Long-time friend Jerry Lewis describes Étaix as "one of the great forces" of twentieth century film comedy. But the general public amnesia - outside of hardcore cinephiles - around this filmmaker is amazing. Many thanks Rocket :-)
Thanks for the info on Étaix Jim. Fascinating stuff. The fact that he worked with Tati AND Jerry Lewis is pretty amazing...The music sort of reminded me of Tati's music in Playtime...
