Hey! It's that time of year again...Halloween's right around the corner. I remember as a kid I'd already be planning out my costume by now (it's really cool to see my 11 year old doing the same!)
You know...I really don't know whether 4E really had anything to do w/ this album...but I'm gonna keep his name up there just for the heck of it!
Ready for another one of: "Rocket's: 'People I've Met Stories"? Back in the mid 80's I was working at a place in L.A. where a lot of the 'old' Hollywood B-list and fringe crowd would hang out...One day in walks Forest J. Ackerman with his lovely wife. As I was showing him to his table I couldn't help but tell him even though I was sure he had heard it thousands of times before, just how truly monumental his magazine was to me and my friends back in the day...He was SO thrilled to hear this! He immediately gave me a '4E Forever!' pen and keychain and proceeded to talk my ear off...To top it all off he invited me over to his house for a tour of his amazing museum of Hollywood Horror and Genre memorabilia...unfortunately I never made it but some friends who worked at the same restaurant took him up on that offer and STILL talk about it as one of the high points of their lives! Over 25 years later...A true gentleman who simply LOVED the life he made for himself...what a great character!
