If you're a fan of Italian soundtracks (especially Ennio Morricone) you gotta pounce on this one! Italian pop songs from 1965 on the RCA Italia label that were produced by an all-star group of arranger-conductors who also were (are) amazing composers in their own right...

    Fun stuff!

  2. Hey Rocket, I have a request from Luis in Costa Rica.

"The Living Guitars Plays Pink Panther"

Thanks for sharing your treasures, Rocket!

  3. Hi Isbum! You're more than welcome keem-o-sabe. Luis asked me about that one too and, believe it or not, I don't have that one...BUT it's now on my radar and if I happen to see it out there (probably somewhere in the asteroid belt) you can be sure it'll end up here.

  4. The actual title is:

If it's not searchable on a blog where it was originally posted let me know I can help.

Thanks for all the posts Rocket. This has got to get in the queue someday...
    Ciao Bella!

  5. Hi Martooni!

Old mate Filmpac snagged it from the now defunct "Hooked On Stereophonic" and re-posted on his "Vintage Vinyl"
    HERE:

We all have odd "Grail's" and know the pining for them can seem obsessive, but if you'd help out here, I'm sure Luis would be grateful.

  6. Here you go Luis / Isbum. Sure the original ripper will not mind. I currently have no obsessive grails. The fine sharers on the internet have satisfied all my demands. I am free brothers, free!

  7. Partially useless trivia:

That Living Guitars record came from the tiny thrift store of a church on Coronado Island near San Diego, CA.

It's a cool record and I'm glad it's still out and about and being enjoyed.

  8. Ohhh, goodie! Thanks go out to The Macs who gave an offering and got a blessing at a church on an island. :)
I love stories about finding cool records in unusual places.
The polar opposite of Rockets junky's den purchases.

  9. Funny you should mention that isbum...Did I ever tell you about the records I found being thrown out at a Chinese opium den located in Antartica? They were much cooler than the scratchy lps I found at The Methadone Clinic Thrift Store at the North Pole (I believe they were using old needles).

  10. Your like the Jacques Cousteau of vinyl expeditions!

That double entendre made me laugh so hard I dropped a red-hot spoon in my lap! (OUCHIE!)

It's what I get for microwaving my co-co for 10 minuets!

I'll be playing Jumbo's Clown Room at Hollywood & Western all week folks, so strap on a gat & come on down!

  11. Macs, Thanks for all the Living posts over the years. Been appreciating them a lot over the past few days.

The President and CFO are away from the office next week so don't have to retreat to "Living Strings Therapy" on the headphones while working in the veal fattening cubicle.

It's crazy, started working in 1979 at this place that piped in a radio station whose vocalize promo was "Where the beautiful music issssssss!" Used to hate it. 30 years later I need it!

  12. I rarely remember where I find the records (Nameless Goodwill #1112) but that one stuck out because it's the only record that didn't really belong there. All the other records were of the Tennessee Ernie Ford style. Then there's this shiny silver albums with people in a ski lodge on the cover.

This must have been considered racy music to one of the congregation!

Martooni - I grew up with easy listening and then rejected it for about 20 years. Then I realized how much I missed it.

  13. I took a leave from movie scores in the early '80's only to return with a passion about 20 years later.

Seems Martooni needed another 10 years to come around. ;)
